Dear Friends,

It's been a busy first three months in Congress!  In the Budget Committee and on the floor of the House, I've fought hard against draconian cuts in the Ryan Budget that would shred our social safety net, repeal historic healthcare reforms, and put our economic recovery at risk....

North Coast Building and Construction Trades Council Endorse Huffman for Congress

Eureka, CA – Congressional candidate, Assemblymember Jared Huffman, is proud to announce support from more local labor leaders in his bid to be the North Coast’s next member of Congress. The Building and Construction Trades Council (BCTC) of Humboldt and Del Norte Counties, representing 20 different labor organizations, is endorsing Jared Huffman for the new 2nd District Congressional seat.

“He has earned a labor voting record of 97% and he supports the kind of jobs we need to get the economy going again – that’s what we need in Congress right now,” said Bob Center, Business Agent for Operating Engineers Local 3.

Huffman’s strong voting record and commitment to creating quality jobs in California helped garner the backing of BCTC. So far in this Congressional race he has won the endorsement of over two dozen local, state, national, and international unions.

Sid Berg, the Secretary and Treasurer of BCTC, said, “We voted to endorse Jared Huffman for Congress. We feel he has the legislative experience to carry our voices to Washington DC.”

“Not only has Jared been a long-time friend of labor as a state legislator and a local government leader, he’s the only candidate in this race that knows how to make government move, and move in ways that benefit working-class families and the unions they belong to,” said Mariann Hassler, Field Representative for Carpenters Local 751.
