What we're up against!

Friday, March 29, 2013

Dear Friends,

It's been a busy first three months in Congress!  In the Budget Committee and on the floor of the House, I've fought hard against draconian cuts in the Ryan Budget that would shred our social safety net, repeal historic healthcare reforms, and put our economic recovery at risk....

SAN RAFAEL, CA Today Assemblymember Jared Huffman announced a significant business community endorsement in the race for California’s 2nd Congressional District.  Huffman has won the backing of the California Small Business Association (CSBA), a non-partisan group that represents over 203,000 California small business owners.

“Assembly member Huffman has continually demonstrated his commitment to small businesses in California and we are confident his leadership in Congress will continue to propel job creation and economic growth,” said Betty Jo Toccoli, President of the California Small Business Association. “His open-door policy and dedicated follow-through for his small business constituents has been outstanding.”

Huffman is a leading candidate in the race for California’s 2nd Congressional District and has secured key endorsements from business leaders across the district.

“Small businesses are at the heart of our communities and our economy. In Congress, I will work to make sure that small businesses receive the capital and incentives they need to continue creating jobs in our communities,” said Huffman. “I am honored by the endorsement of a powerful voice in the business community, the California Small Business Association.”

In the race for the 2nd district Congressional seat, Huffman is the only candidate with a record of crafting, passing, and overseeing the implementation of legislation that is spurring economic growth and job creation. This includes authoring landmark clean energy laws like AB 1109, AB 1470, and AB 920; authoring a law to eliminate an unnecessary and duplicative regulation that was burdening California businesses, AB 2002; authoring a law to help North Coast winegrape growers to protect their crops from frost without harming fragile salmon populations, AB 964; and authoring a law that creates a new, more socially-responsible form of corporation that is already helping attract new investment and jobs to California, AB 361.

This year in the Assembly Huffman has introduced a package of three innovative bills to promote job creation and economic growth.
